This New Gig Is A Challenge

IMG_1357Well, it’s been about 3 months since I started my furniture business at On A Whim.  It’s been a challenge.  Running a business takes a lot of time and effort.  You put “stuff” out there and wait for it to sell.  Sometimes you wait, and wait, and wait.  Then you start to wonder about your “stuff.”  Your style.  Is it going to every sell?  Did I get it wrong?  Then I decided to put out tea pots and tea cups.  I love tea pots and tea cups.  My mom collected tea cups, I collected tea pots.  So, I put a collection of tea pots out and they started selling.  This business is all about finding myself, my style, my niche, and that’s why this new gig is a challenge.

The Tuxedo Table

Found this small, non-descript table in a thrift store hidden among the rest of the give aways.  Then, using this porcelain knob, I fashioned this table with beige and black. It reminds me of a tuxedo, so I’ll call this my Tuxedo Table.  The top of the table is a series of strokes with Benjamin Moore’s Arabian Sands and the black is Black by Sherwin Williams.  My creativity really came through as I let my mind visual beauty among ashes.  The Tuxedo Table will be at On A Whim this weekend… $65.
